20 Canadian Open Spaces

In 2009, Landscape Architecture Canada Foundation supported the addition of 20 CSLA award-winning open spaces in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal to elementsdb. We selected projects that represented: small public spaces, neighbourhood parks, community parks and centers, waterfronts, urban plazas, and natural areas. We conduct field visits to all cases, thus limited our documentation to locales where we had staff- Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal. As a free, public on-line resource, elementsdb highlights these award-winning public spaces, the landscape architects who designed them, and the crucial role played by well-designed public spaces in sustainable urban development.
